The Project
I needed to create a website and marketing campaign for my new online life coaching business. I already had certification as a Law of Attraction (LoA) life coach, but needed a way to let people know about my services to attract and retain clients.
Personas
To create a persona, I used the user research I already conducted, mapped my own journey, and analyzed people from a coaching group I am in that is a similar demographic to create a representation of my future clients.
Joan, a late-20s woman drawn to metaphysical spirituality and self-development, loves Hay House books and lives an upper-middle-class lifestyle. She believes in the Law of Attraction but finds most explanations shallow. Struggling with a major issue, she wishes The Secret offered clearer guidance on how to feel better and manifest effectively.
Website Layout
I analyzed other spiritual life coaches’ websites and my own user frustrations to design my site’s structure. I included a top navigation bar with links to the homepage, about/start here page, blog, free coaching CTA, coaching signup page, and a “freebie” page for email list signups.
Following modern coaching and marketing practices, my homepage features sectional CTAs leading to the blog and freebie to build familiarity before users book coaching. To grow my email list, I added a free e-book signup banner at the top and bottom of every page (except the coaching page) and a dedicated freebie landing page.
For style, I aimed for a warm, inviting, and cohesive brand using shades of brown with purple accents. The site was built in WiX.
Website Copy
Following marketing best practices, I focused my copy on addressing users’ pain points and offering solutions. Since my audience already understands the Law of Attraction, I used familiar terms like “manifest” and “limiting beliefs” to show credibility, while keeping the tone friendly and clear.
On the homepage, I highlight the common struggle of not manifesting desired results despite positive thinking. I introduce the idea that accepting negative thoughts helps overcome them, then guide users to the “Start Here” page for deeper insight and the blog for further reading.
Each Monday, I post a blog addressing common challenges with titles framed as “how-to,” “#1 tip,” or “why” explanations—optimized with SEO keywords for Google and Pinterest.
To balance free content and paid services, I emphasize that users can work through limiting beliefs on their own, but my coaching offers faster, easier progress. My main selling points are time saved and reduced frustration, supported by a free introductory session.
Email Sales Funnel
Building an email list is the most reliable way to reach fans—unlike social platforms, you own it. Instead of a bland “subscribe” CTA, I offer a valuable lead magnet: a PDF e-book, “4 Steps to Manifest Your Desires,” packed with genuinely useful content and a link to my coaching page.
Signup triggers a ConvertKit sequence: Day 1 delivers the e-book and asks readers to share their biggest LoA challenges; Day 2 shares my backstory and how I help with limiting beliefs. After that, every Monday at 7am PST, subscribers get my latest post plus a coaching reminder. I added a first-time 50% off coaching coupon to boost conversions.
Pinterest Marketing/Best Practices
I took a Pinterest marketing course for bloggers to learn how to grow traffic and monetize content. While the algorithm isn’t public, consistent posting, engaging content, and varied pin designs help boost visibility.
After creating all 12 new Pinterest images, I upload them to Tailwind, save them to the relevant Pinterest boards, and then random the automated pinning schedule so that they show up on different days at different times to my boards. When uploading the pins I make sure to use keywords according to best SEO practices in my pin titles and pin descriptions.
To stay consistent, I use Tailwind to automatically post at least four pins per day. For each new weekly blog post, I design 12 Pinterest graphics in Photoshop, upload them to Tailwind, and schedule them with SEO-optimized titles and descriptions.
I also use Tailwind Communities, sharing pins with other creators in related niches like Law of Attraction and holistic health. By tracking which pins get shared most—like my “manifesting money” post—I refine future content to match audience interests.
For the Future
After creating this site and utilizng best marketing techniques/UX practices, I realized that I enjoyed the website design more than the coaching aspect, so I have stepped away from this business for now (you can still access the site if you wish).
If I’d continued, my next step would have been to create evergreen e-courses—like “manifesting money” or “manifesting relationships”—to boost profitability and offer self-paced options for those not seeking 1-on-1 coaching.
